Senior Structural Engineer (6+ years)

About the role:

We are currently looking for a technically strong, creative and passionate chartered structural engineer with 6+ years of experience to join our team. Working within a supportive and welcoming team, the role will require you to be responsible for the management of projects and promote and maintain relationships. You will need to be enthusiastic, hard-working and looking to take on early responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete planned work programmes and projects to timeframes and within budget. 
  • Ensure day to day maintenance expenditure to pre-set targets. 
  • Develop a strong rapport with clients.
  • Draft orders, prepare estimates, specifications, supervise contractors and check and approve accounts.
  • Prepare designs, calculations, specifications, drawings and carry out risk assessments for improvement, refurbishment and new build schemes, tender documents, and supervise works to completion including agreeing interim and final accounts.
  • Prepare schedules of dilapidations, improvement schemes, drawings and specifications, structural surveys and insurance reinstatements schemes.
  • Provide advice to clients in respect of construction and refurbishment projects and actively promote surveying services on a fee paying basis.
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities. 
  • Carry out duties appropriate to the grade and chartered nature of the post.
  • Promote continuous improvement and deliver demonstrable high quality products and services which embrace quality standards.
  • Offer mentoring and focus on chartership support of junior engineers as required.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and have regular input to Friday technical meetings and emails.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to Heyne Tillett Steel.
